Day 3 of operation new life. So far so good. I have lost 6 lbs from walking the entire SE part of the city, and being a bit too preoccupied to eat. My things arrived a day late (yesterday) but today I am almost unpacked and set up. Target was my mission for today, and tonight will be to finish organizing myself so that I can wake up tomorrow and find a job! The Library has been a good place to go. Free internet access for an hour, and 10cents a page to print. Its also a great people watching place. The Library attracts all walks of life apparently. I have also found a great cafe/coffee shop 5 blocks from my apt. They have free computers to use for customers, and the people there are really laid back and nice. This will most likely become my hang out spot. Me and Champ the pug, who is sitting watching me type right now. Its really strange. I walk into my pace and it feels like home. Its my furniture, pillows, smells, and it works perfectly for me. The people who live upstairs are kind of cool. There is a younger couple with a 12 year old son. Doug is the husband and Anna is the wife I think. They seem really young to have a 12 year old son, but whatever. The couple that lives on the third floor are bicyclists. The Husband invented some program for fitting people properly to their bikes when looking to buy one. I don't know what the wife does, but she seems nice enough. Its been pretty hot actually, but it cools down to a very pleasant temp. at night. Enough so, that I can sit out by my door and read, or just watch people and animals go by. Tuesday morning when I opened my front door, a small grey cat ran inside. His name was Nunu and belongs to a house across the street. Being the very friendly cat that he is, all he wanted to do was rub against my feet, however was on my way out. I pick Nunu up, returned him to his front door and went on my way. I haven't seen him since. Other than wandering the shops on Hawthorne, nothing interesting has happened so far. I'm still just getting used to being here, and having to drive 25 minutes to get to a Target.
Its supposed to rain tomorrow, no surprise there. Time to go to the grocery store.
