I KEEP TRYING TO POST AND LJ and things get WIGGY... Arggg. Sorry for the deletions. What I was TRYING to say....
She was on my f-list for a bit, but I felt I had to trim down. I kept those I felt were truly serious about writing, since the things I post on my LJ are so sensitive (being a professional writer). She doesn't do much marketing. It takes a great deal of time and effort to write professionally and market yourself as such. Not everyone has that time and not every publisher has that ability.
I have read some of her short stories, and like you, it was not my cup of tea. Certainly those who like dracula and phantom might be interested in the crossover. I think she is more a dracula fan than anything from what I recall.
Thanks SO MUCH for the CONGRATS! I can't beleive it. I have busted my arse to land a contract. I don't have a release date yet, but will tell my LJ when I do. I meet my editor soon. It is all very exciting because this Leroux book will open doors to get my other historical recognized by Kensington. So far I am contracted for the first in the Madrigal series, with the publisher's right to the second and third book.
VIVA LEROUX. Hopefully folks will like it. It is a different spin. I still have to tell Jerry Hogle (Undergrounds of Phantom) that I landed a publisher. He is going to be tickled!
