Where the hell are you from?
I gotta vent on this one...
I'm sick and tired of hearing people bitch and moan about people from different cultures who have *legally* made their way to America acting like they're judge and jury on who's "in" and who's an "outsider." Face it. We may have some people who have not paid their dues to be in this country, and for them, I say they either need to take the steps down the road to citizenship legally or get the hell out. This does not mean by any stretch that anybody and everybody who looks different from who we might be is here illegally or that they have not paid their dues to be an American citizen. I'm positive that there are naturalized citizens who have totally paid their dues to be here who are infinitely more qualified as citizens of the United States of America than many of our own natural-born brethren. I can be certain that I myself would miss at least some questions on official citizenship tests. I did manage to get 95% on a sample citizenship quiz on MSNBC.com, my only miss being which form I'd have to use to become a naturalized citizen. Hardly worth mentioning in a way since I'd never have to see this form in the first place. For the people who say all outsiders need to get the hell out of here, before you say that to somebody or start spouting off at the mouth, take the test yourself and see how qualified you really are. It might make you think twice about talking about something which you may not know as much as you think you know. And for anybody who has been told to get the hell out by some angry, no-nothing asshole, remind them that very few of us would be here if all "outsiders" were told to get the hell out by the original natural-born inhabitants of this land. We're all outsiders to some extent or another and when we look down on our fellow man who has paid his dues for being here for being somebody who doesn't belong, it looks bad on all of us. This country was built by all different types of outsiders coming together in the spirit of forming a more perfect place to live and without outsiders, America simply would not exist.
