Damn, That's Good Brainwashing!
But if it's true, is it really brainwashing?
When I picked up Aislinn and Shaw from preschool today, they had made these adorable "Talking Earths." You pull the string and the Earth's mouth moves and the kids make them say things like, "Keep me clean by putting trash in proper trash receptacles!" I thought they were really cool!
As I was getting the kids into their seats in the car, I took one of the Talking Earths and I pulled the string and made Earth say in a funny voice, turning Earth toward the kids:
"Every time you vote for George Bush, I die a little more."
The kids thought this was the most hilarious thing ever. They roared with laughter. Tristan was barely able to get himself strapped into his seat.
We all if the Earth is anything, she's a sucker for an audience.
She continued: "Every time someone votes Republican, a little piece of me dies."
Again, the kids erupted in laughter.
Earth knew they wanted more.
"OIL is ....EVIL, I tell you!"
I returned Talking Earth to its rightful owner and all the way home I hear all three kids laughing and saying, "Every time you vote for George Bush, I die a little more. Every time someone votes Republican, a little piece of me dies. Oil is evil.....EVIL, I tell you!"
