I'm caught in the unpleasant position of waiting for time to speed up and simultaneously wishing it would slow down. Working on my critical thesis while waiting for Mass Effect 3 is a painful experience.
Challenging, that! Um . . . maybe it can slow down while you're working on the critical thesis, but speed up when you're waiting for ME3? I don't want ME3 to come out quite yet because I have another playthrough of ME to get through (I'm part way there!), two or three more of ME2 and some research to do for a paper (which I also need to write). *g* Plus I have Portal 2 to play.
I am looking forward to more Portal 2 I've made it through several levels--and GLaDOS is back. Oops? :)
Any thoughts on Commando verses Operative for Infiltrators? I am about to complete the relevant mission and, not having played an Infiltrator before, I am all confused! I do like the sniper rifle (a lot) and the shotgun (less fond of the pistol; it takes too long! *g*), but I am attempting to get better with the tech talents. . . .
Good luck with your reading! I think I've managed to avoid Jung. I haven't read much Campbell, and I am still stuck partway through the Lord of the Rings books. I think it's been close to 10 years that I've been stuck in the same place on them. :)
I went with the sniper rifle, mainly because I like being away from the worst of the fighting in general. I find myself sniping in most games now, if I have the choice. Also, the cloak is a good pairing with it. My ME weapons tend to be sniper rifle, heavy pistol, heavy gun.
The reading is going well, which is nice. Funny how the more I read these books I hate, the more I at least understand them.
I am glad to hear that the reading is going well! I found Bourdieu and Foucault pretty indecipherable the first time around, but they dd tend to improve with repeated exposure (no matter how little I wanted repeated exposure *g*). From what I understand Campbell is *really important* but a lot of people get stuck on his ideas as a formula and then their writing often become (shockingly!) formulaic.
Also, the cloak is a good pairing with it.
Cloak? Is this ME2 or something I haven't located as an Infiltrator in ME? Right now I am just trying to figure out if I should choose the Commando specialization of the Operative specialization. I think I may be leaning towards the Commando; it seems more hands-on (if you will), but I feel like I *ought* to go with Operative. Make myself use the tech skills more or something?
I find I'm really liking Campbell so far. I think it's because I see the formula, and he's just confirming my suspicions. It's the reason why I was able to say LoTR was derivitive, because structurally, it is!
The cloak is in ME2, and I'll have to check if it was in ME. It is a short-term invisibility thing, handy for crossing no man's land and flanking.
I don't think I've played much as the operative. I'll have to check.

Okay, time to throw myself into heavy reading--Jung, van Gennep, Campbell, Tolkien, and more.
