(no subject)
I now have three very part-time jobs, though only two of them are paid. Mornings, I work for a PR Agency called Kimberly Public Affairs, where I have found that I really know absolutely nothing about what I'm supposed to be doing, but apparently it's not a big issue. Afternoons I'm the PR Intern for the children's museum, where I've only had two real days of work thus far due to various bosses being sick/out of the office/in giant board meetings etc. Thus far, only data entry. Evenings I tutor snotty rich kids. Still not really enough paid hours/week to make me really happy.
I randomly tried out for the Players' production of Threepenny Opera, and am now a Beggar/Whore/chorus member. Huzzah! I like performing in Hamman. Rehearsals start in a week, and hopefully they'll go well... I've done theater previously with like half the cast, so it should be pretty good... and three of my former directors (Patrick from RLOS, Caitlin from Hello, Hamlet! and Paul from Cabaret) are all in the show with me, so I feel like this could almost be billed as the best of the best of Rice theater if you pulled a couple of the other people from Rent and Guys and Dolls.
I've started doing costumes for this year's renn fest and Halloween and whatnot. I have a corset cut out and bought a shit ton of $2 patterns from Joann's and hopefully some of the pieces will turn out okay. If this corset pattern turns out as easy as I think it will be, I'm totally selling them on the internets to people who buy overpriced historical costume pieces.
