what makes a good weekend?

Aug 23, 2009 23:10

Friday:
-Tea room for lunch with mom and Brett, see Nessa, mock Brett mercilessly while driving him to band practice
-Finally upholster kitchen chairs so meals can be eaten sitting at a table
-Dinner at Mongolian Hot Pot, which is like Chinese fondue, and surprisingly good
-Awesome thunderstorm
-Watched Pulgasari, Kim Jong-Il's Godzilla-knockoff monster movie from the 80's. Hilariously bad.

Saturday:
-Played far too much Rock Band
-Made snickerdoodles
-Finished the last of the four books remaining in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, that Jeffrey gave me for my birthday. Read all four in the span of three days as they are children's books with large fonts.
-Began Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Unexpectedly delightful.
-Watched a ton of Futurama

Sunday:
-More zombies
-Cheesecake!
-Genealogy research, in which I am able to pwn Patrick with my knowledge of 19th century clothing styles and photography habits, and my knowledge of the birth and death dates of the branch of his family he assigned me to research (which he still can't keep straight). Research includes box of old, really badass, family stuff, such as a photo album with a music box in the back, or rations stamps from WWII.

Tomorrow: Laura's party, first day at KPA. Hopefully both will go well.
