the past few days have been absolutely insane. i haven't really been updating this month because i didn't want to jinx anything or speak too soon and ruin something.
but things have fallen into place, mostly. so i feel like i can talk about it.
GET PSYCHED, PEOPLE!
- i browse craigslist pretty regularly, and got into the habit of looking at the job postings. when i saw something that looked remotely good, i'd shoot over a resume, because hey - why not?
- in early feburary, i found a position on that site that sounded awesome. so i rewrote my resume and cover letter and sent them in.
- two mondays ago (the 5th) - that company invited me in for an interview, it was scheduled for that week's thursday (the 8th).
- oh my good lord i rocked the SHIT out of that interview. i was there for FOUR HOURS and talked to a VP and two other executives - one who which would potentially become my direct supervisor.
- the following monday (the 12th), they call me and ask to schedule a second interview with another VP. we decide on wednesday (the 14th).
- i rocked the hell out of THAT interview too. i was there for slightly more than an hour, discussing how i'd fit into the existing office culture.
- FOUR HOURS LATER they call me back and make me an offer (salary + major league benefits), which i accepted.
- here, i'll sum up everything i just said:
ME + NEW JOB + MICHIGAN AVE DOWNTOWN = OMGAWESOMEWTFBBQ!!!1!!11
- on friday, i put in my 2 week's notice at my current job. it was absolutely the most nerve wracking thing i've ever done. i went into the office feeling like i was going to throw up. thankfully, my bosses were AMAZING about it. they were professional, if a little sad, and we all hugged before i left the office that day. so i think my last two weeks here will be alright, if sad. for all the complaining i did about this place, i'll be sad to leave it.
today, i worked another homeshow - but this one was located in a town full of people i know, two of which happen to be exes i am on excellent terms with and hadn't seen in years. so i called up
adam (omg old picture. it is from 2003.) and went to see his fancy new condo and meet his girlfriend. considering i hadn't seen the kid since 2004, it went pretty well. and then i met up with
billy (whom i dated WAY WAY WAY back when in HIGH SCHOOL...which is when this picture is from), for coffee and catching-up.
pretty badass, and good terms for boys and jobs and life. i win.
