i went down to champaign for move-in weekend this year, to see some old friends and make some new ones. and on the drive home, i heard the prettiest song. it was simple and and sweet and all i remembered of it for the LONGEST time was how one word was said and that it was a very uncomplicated song and that i was totally enamoured with it...i tried to look it up, but you try google-ing the word "heart" stretched to contain FOURTEEN syllables and see how far you get. so i figured it was a lost cause and it would just be one of those elusive indie songs played at
WPGU in champaign that i would never hear again*.
and tonight...it was the final song in the episode of
veronica mars that i'd been watching. and of course it played while our leading lady wondered as to her boyfriend's fidelity.
which, coincidentally, is the title of the song.
which, less coincidentally, i have uploaded for your listening pleasure:
here**.
the lyrics to which are
here.
and, lest you all forget...
Poll prompts * : hey UIUC kids....remember when WPGU was the planet? and remember when the planet kicked ass and played shit you actually knew the words to and wanted to hear? which is not to say that this new shit shouldn't be played, but moreso that dammit, i want to hear something i know and can sing along to.
