off today, but not having the best of days. several reasons, so i shall provide only the highlights.
1. that jewelry job
a)got a call from HR lady this morning saying she wants to send me documentation to start the investigative part of this interminable interview process. background check, references, etc. this really annoys me. i understand they don't want to be hiring criminals or lunatics, but i find this really invasive off-putting. pffffffffffft. they will know more about me than i do when this is all said & done. and whether or not they actually hire me, too.
b)got an email from the owner saying that they met to discuss hiring me yesterday and "redefining" the position to fit my skills. he's out of town this week or next week, but at any rate, they have to present this new redefined job description to their "leadership team" to discuss after he returns. so, at the very minimum, i'd say we're looking at least another two weeks here. plus, all this smacks of very corporate, which is actually ringing this little bell in my head as if to say, "i don't really think you liked really corporate, remember?"

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand i'll have to come back for another interview.
*sigh*
2) my current job
they are having issues with my social security number. i've never had any issues before, so this came as a bit of a surprise to me. the store office manager is this older woman who has taken this situation on as her own personal armageddon. "IT'S SUCH A MESS OMG" *WRINGING OF HANDS AND SWAYING OF HEAD* there was an 8 day time limit to clear this up (which expired yesterday) or i'd be bounced out of their system. so, i had to spend $100 to get copies of my birth & marriage certificate to fix this so i can be in their system. unfortunately, ups couldn't deliver one of the packages, so i had to go down there today & pick it up. after that, i trotted down there to social security this morning (surprisingly painless) and hopefully, everything is kosher now. i still have to go back there first thing in the morning before work to p/u a receipt of some sort. argh.
the rest of what's annoying is alot of little crap. which i shall spare you.
so yeah, go wednesday.
