Yes. I love Halloween and always have. It is just fun. We used to celebrate by decorating and dressing up but now we tend to get take out and settle in for scary movies or thrillers. I remember a few years ago watching The Haunting of Hill House with my brother who had never seen it. I love that show. It is a great one for a scary run. This year we watched Over the Garden Wall which wasn't scary at all but kind of creepy at times. Not even scary creepy. But it was a little funny. Then we watched The Blair Witch Project which none of us have seen in years. By that time we were exhausted. It was a little disappointing this year but we enjoyed it.
2. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Candy wise I love Take Fives, Twix and Hershey's but my favorite Halloween goodie is a caramel apple. We make them for the family every year and then we have them for Halloween. So that was our treat. Caramel apple with M&Ms, Reese pieces, and some candy corn. Soooo good.
3. Do you get trick-or-treaters on Halloween?
We don't. Thought we might when we moved in but we aren't really in a neighborhood so no kiddos. It's fine. Maybe someday.
4. Do you enjoy dressing up in costumes?
I used too. I would now if they weren't so expensive. No one I know has a party but if there were I would definitely try.
5. What is your favorite Halloween memory?
Hmmm. I don't know if I have a favorite but I have some good ones. My mom loved Halloween when we were young. She would go all out. She would decorate the outside and entryway and then she'd hang plastic at the end of the entryway and put candles behind it. So it would look fiery when people saw it from the doorway. Then she'd play these freaky haunted house sounds so it seemed even spookier. I remember when my friends would come by to trick or treat they would always be so freaked out. She once set up a dummy in old cloths in a rocking chair so it would rock when people got near. I remember my friends telling me it was so cool. We loved it too.
We had this garden space between the front of our house and the driveway and my mom turned it into a graveyard every year too. She really loved Halloween back then.
I think if I lived in a neighborhood I'd want to do stuff like that too.
