Turkey Egg Roll Bowl

1 pound ground turkey
1 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
4 cups green cabbage, shredded
1 cup carrot, shredded
1 cup red cabbage, shredded
Or a bag of coleslaw from the store which approximates the same amount
1/2 cup yellow onion, sliced thin
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro (optional)

Make It:
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey and cook, stirring often to crumble, until cooked through.
  2. Add the sesame oil followed by the cabbage, carrot, red cabbage, (or coleslaw mix) onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, salt and pepper to the skillet with the sausage. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until cabbage has softened a bit but is still a little crunchy.
  3. Remove from the heat and top with the green onions and fresh cilantro.
Not only is this a delicious dish but it is sugar free, gluten free and grain free. It is one of the dishes we discovered when doing our Candida cleanse. I highly recommend it. And when we aren't on a cleanse sometimes we pair it with some potstickers.

We also started adding some extra veggies. Some thinly sliced bell peppers or even zucchini noodles (store bought not made). I tried some boc choy in it but that didn't excite me even though I tend to like it.

And if you like spicy you can try the spicy sesame oil. We have spicy and plain so I do 1 tablespoon regular and 1/2 spicy. It is very good.
