[SPOILERS]
It's only the first episode, and we already have:
1) Scene in the rain
2) Chance encounters of dooooooom
3) An emotional spiel wherein he gets slapped
4) A flashback scene. Of that slap. (Yes. Flashback of something that happened WITHIN THE EPISODE. My old bane)
It's so unimpressive it's funny.
Disappearing acts. Dogs not liking him. Rain. Piano playing. Mirrors breaking. HOODIES. Oh lord. The hood. He might as well be bald for this thing.
It's really annoying how he's so creepy but everyone still fawns over him. But somehow I expected this. Like I did the bad special effects.
Oh well. I'm having fun watching him stare at Nanami's neck. And coming this close... ;p I also like the abuse he suffers at the hands of his host family in the mornings. I really, really hope they don't do away with Nanami early on in the series. Because that will really make me stop watching it. I mean, I think Kato Rosa's cute but this role is the pits. (Two things I normally can't stand--vampire stories and teacher-student-love stories. Bleargh.)
I pick the bone now: maybe subs will clear this up, but does this mean all vampires in this world are men? And women are their victims? And that's it?
Go on, Japan. Surprise me.
Also, I've seen Nakayama Yuma on a Shounen Club episode. He kinda scares me a bit. Don't know if it was just that episode but he was remarkably not cute and cuddly. Maybe it's his face? (Another thing--he has a face with structure scarily enough not unlike Pattinson. I'm not kidding--he looks much younger, of course, but if you look carefully at their faces there is a weird resemblance. But this could just be me. I dunno. There are certain pictures that make me twitch because one reminds me of the other.) Anyway, yeah--JE boy that he is, I feel no love for him.
Last thing. Kondo Masahiko's role feels like a last ditch attempt to make an aging idol popular with the younger generation. And I mean that in the kindest way possible.
[/SPOILERS]
ETA: Wasn't much better subbed, I fear. I'm not watching the next one unless it's subbed, because watching the thing twice is waaaaayyyyy too much for me to handle. :p
Short version: It was as bad as I expected... but I'm still watching!
