Yamapi's new drama...Hmmm. I'm also a bit unimpressed at the moment--it sounds rather boring and I'm not the biggest fan of any of the mentioned actresses. (Keiko's pretty, though!) Probably the main problem is that there aren't enough details out yet?
Well, good luck to them. I'll go right ahead and say that right now, it sounds kinda lame and boring. It's only an initial announcement though, there's hope yet. (I've been wrong numerous times, so optimism is a go!)
I will laugh my ass off if it turns out to be Slam Dunk. And then cry, because Yamapi =/= Slam Dunk.
edit: Apparently it's called Buzzer Beat - Hero on the Edge.
...Which I will refrain from commenting about in favor of:
Maya Miki is in it!!! Now I think I really do have to watch it, because the supporting cast looks great. I mean, Mizobata Junpei! Ito Hideaki! Kanjiya Shihori!

Tegoshi's new drama sounds more interesting, though it's only a special. He ain't the lead, though, which I think is good--ever since his stint in Canada he's been a bit bigheaded about his acting. Then again, Tegoshi's quite a brat anyway, won't matter how well you treat him or not.
The news_jpop link (http://community.livejournal.com/news_jpop/4187186.html#cutid1) made me laugh, though, because the initial rough translation had this line on Tegoshi's character: ...Tegoshi will appear with darker-than-usual hair and in a business suit, and will even appear as a host in a role that is a reversal of his usual image.
How is a host not his usual image? XDD I can totally see it. Though of course I was an Ouran fangirl.

Last bit of news. KAT-TUN's record-breaking 10 (or was it 8? 7? Bah, it keeps changing) day concert is several days in, and they have this planetary theme going on, like Ueda--Saturn, Koki--Sun, etc. This made me laugh:
Jin's Day. Mars.
For a minute I didn't quite understand the news clip and was all, "Eh? People are still harping on about the rumor of Jin starring in a Mars dorama?"
I'm really quite silly, you see.
