It truly is sad to see this. With the type of technology that we can create to destroy life, you'd think by now we could invent something that could either pour water over these places or something along those lines. It's so sad :(
Wow that is NUTS-- are these fires a common occurrence?? We have wildfires here in the US-- in California mainly-- but they've never, to my knowledge, caused 80+ deaths... wow.
We have bushfires in the summer, but it's never been this bad. With the weather hitting around 50c in many areas, this is the worst on record - worse than Ash Wednesday and Black Friday around 20 years ago. Whole towns have been totally decimated by this! (Yes, whole towns have disappeared as a result!)
Me neither, it makes me really sad watching the news.... speaking of news, the most popular newsreader in Victorian history, Brian Naylor, lost his life in the fires as well (and his wife)
