Getting out of the house. (and a new icon!)

So after doing mostly house work yesterday I finnally convinced myself to get my butt out of the house. I hauled myself and my roommate to the stock pavilion. Got there, sat and read for a while, I will admit being stupid and anti-social. Then finnally got fed up with doing that and went and shot archery for a while. Which was fun, the new barony arrows are good, although the bow I was using was a bit on the heavy side for me. Sorry corvusjoyous I probably should have told you but it wasn't the major thing on my mind. I scored an average of about seven points. For the first time shooting in a while I will take that as a good sign, so after the final flight where my arms were shaking and the arrows were no where near landing on target I stopped there and waited for the flight to be over with. Casulties? One arrow head came off which was found lodged in the target frame.

Then they brought out the combat arrows, at first we were only shooting at the barrels for a while, then we put
a heavy fighter's helm on the top. I was getting flack for not hitting on target, I nailed it right on target. Then we had live targets on the field, that was fun, it was good experiance. So after talking with some sca people once I do get the money will start working on getting into combat archery. Now they will (have?) removed the requirement for heavy that your need to have sword and board to get to combat archery.

While I do like this idea, I do want to have some experiance in the other aspects of heavy fighting. Namely, sword and board, spear, two sword, and anything else that catches my fancy. So I am looking into how I can get cheap armor together or armor for cheap.

Also those who want it can steal the icon, I didn't make the orginal image, I found it on an image board, but I did shrink it down. For those who can't read the text it says "I art in thine base slaying thine doods"

Going to belgarth tonight, not sure if anyone is going to be there, since there is a even down in Illinois,

combat archery, archery, sca, heavy fighting
