Today I was on McMaster University's news webpage and I saw that they had posted the names of the honourary graduates this year. I saw that Ivan Reitman was one of them, which got me very excited to say the least, and I just assumed that he would be presiding over the humanities graduation. BUT NO> we get some guy named Hugh and some lady named Linda. Reitman is instead going to be at the social science ceremony for some reason. Here's what they describe him as:
Ivan Reitman, comedic film producer and director, Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) *
And he's talking to a bunch of anthropologists and geographers not a bunch of artists and film and media and fun people. So instead of hearing a guy talk about Animal House and Ghostbusters I'm going to hear these two squares talk about books and reading. This is a flawed ceremony.
As in previous university years, my birthday is plagued with exams and some other bad news, but all of that will be put aside tonight when my family takes me to see the Toronto Blue Jays! I plan on taking advantage of this and getting drunk and eating a lot of nachos. I went to find my old blue jays jersey from when I was like 10 and i found it but it had all these blood stains or something all over it. So i cancelled that plan. my grandma sent me a card with a whoopie cushion in it.
