More inane ramblings!

I really should've done some more UCAS form-filling today, but I just really couldn't be bothered *sigh*. I keep thinking there's lots more days in which to do it as it doesn't have to be submitted until January, but I'd like to get an unconditional asap from Manchester, then I know I've something to aim for next year and so I'm not wallowing in this abyss forever LOL. I can't really think of what parts of my form to fill in - I'm waiting for advice on whether to just apply to Manchester, as realistically that's the only place I can see myself going to at the moment, and I know my personal statement needs polishing, so that'll take an afternoon or so. I thought I was going to go shopping in Bury today, but the afternoon dragged on, so we decided not to bother, and so I did some washing which I duly pegged out, but it was as wet when I brought it in as it was this morning :-( Still, finished it off in the drier this evening and it's now all ready and waiting to be ironed, so that's something to look forward to later(!)

Had a nice e-mail from Lois Dean (the school librarian) the other day. All seems to be well at school and she agreed that it might be a good idea to message the Headmaster and see if he'll allow me to help out in the Library for two days a week (well, starting just after 9 and finishing just before 2, so I miss all the school runs!) I really enjoyed that job and therefore was really annoyed when I was dismissed because I was informed that "we do pay someone to do that job!"... seems SWH got it into his head that I was doing all of Lois' work and she just sat about drinking coffee, which couldn't have been further from the truth. I also think he was annoyed that I was doing some of the AutoLib cataloguing, but it was only a case of scanning a barcode, and if the correct information popped up, scanning another barcode and saving it to the system. It wasn't rocket science, and any that posed any problems I left for Lois and she finished them off at the end of the day. Mostly, though, my job consisted of shifting books around and sticking said barcodes on the books, and covering them with sticky back plastic. It hardly required a degree to do it, and meant that Lois could be free to see to the more pressing matters that arise in a school library, rather than messing about with tedious admin. I say "tedious" as if I didn't enjoy it, but I really did, and that's why I was so annoyed when he just dismissed my help and why I'll be annoyed once more if I can't get back there doing a job I loved. *breathes once again*

It would also annoy me if SWH was unpleasant towards me... I can see that as a possibility, because he clearly won't really want me there (if I do get the go-ahead from HM) and so will try to make life as uncomfortable as possible, and yet we got on so well together for nearly all of the two years that I was in his form in the sixth-form. I couldn't work out why he suddenly stopped talking to us all in the last couple of months before the end of term, and continued to ignore me when I was going in just before the summer holidays to help Lois.

Bah, I can't work him out at all...

In other news, I went out for lunch yesterday with my mother's friend and am going into Manchester for lunch tomorrow with a friend/friends which will be nice. I shall be going on the train on Saturday to a lovely cafe in the Lake District. Unfortunately, they are only classed as a seasonal business, and therefore have to close down for a certain number of months each year, and so Saturday will be their last day until February half-term :-( Still, will be nice to visit one last time before they close for the winter.

*stops rambling and ranting* LOL
