They did, actually. I had just finished lunch when my boss called my cel phone and said "Don't worry about coming back in, they're clearing the building."

And telecommuting isn't really an option, unfortunately. Either I go in to work, or I don't really work at all. We'll see -- the fire was still right down in that area the last I checked, so I don't know what the status is yet.

I was reading and looking on Live Maps this morning--one of the articles on MSN had pushpins for the fire locations.

Yikes, that's close! I usually don't see names I recognize when they list road closures.

Yeah, seeing "Bake road north of Irvine Blvd. closed" at one point was a trip. Because that's, you know, the road that I take to work every day.

Also "Irvine Blvd. between Alton and Sand Canyon" because that's the road I take home every day (or at least part of it -- I actually get on Alton, so I would be turning right at the closure).
