Today heralds the end of a long age--and the beginning of a new. In 1988 the Scrivners bought a brand-new van. Christopher was seven years old, and little Stephanie had not yet celebrated her fifth birthday. In 2004 on this date Christopher, twenty-three, and Stephanie, now twenty, folded down the middle bench to sit in the very back seat one last time.
