Great Gravy!

Well, greetings to all!

As you no doubt have guessed, I have returned. I did so one week ago yesterday to be exact.

My trip was absolutely fantastic! I loved every second of it...except for missing one of my flights. That really sucked, luckly it wasn't a very expensive one and I was able to buy a ticket on a plane later that evening to the same place and it only cost me about $175 canadian which really isn't too bad. There were a few stressful travel moments (I've come to the conclusion that I hate the travel part of travelling, I absolutely love being in foreign countries but getting there is the shits. Mind you, it's totally worth it) but the good points completely outweighed the bad.

There are far too many stories to tell so I'm not even going to begin since neither you nor I have the patience to write or read them. However...they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll tell the tale with some photographs! After actually going through and picking all the one's I want you guys to see I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do this in installments. Well, here it is...

...The MAGNIFICENT ADVENTURES OF RAZOR THE EXCELLENTZOR:  Episode I

We shall start from the beginning...

This is the main street in St. Albans, England. My second cousins lived there and it was where I spent the first 6 days of my trip. The streets are so quaint looking, with new shops built into buildings hundreds of years old and a very castle-esque clock tower in the background that was built between 1403 and 1412 (on the left, behind the white house in the middle) and the main tower of the cathedral (on the right with the flag).

Here is the quite large and absolutely georgous St. Albans cathedral. The city of St. Albans is probably a little bigger than langford, so not that big, and they get one of these...it's totaly not fair. But I guess that what you get when you've been around for like 1500 years.

This is a particularly striking carved stone screen inside the cathedral. I was totally blown away when I saw it. St. Albans was the first cathedral I saw and it totally blew me away even though it's much smaller than places like St. Peter's, St. Paul's, and Westminster abbey. The screen here is about 20 feet high.

Now, OFF TO LONDON!

And what do you see when your in London? Why Big Ben of course!

And the rightfully famous Westminster Abbey. It's gigantic, and lots of super famous peole like Charles Dickens and George Friedrich Handel are burried inside it. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take pictures inside.

And of course, one also must see the one and only Buckingham palace. The gates have a little too much gold on them for my personal taste but it's all very impressive. Now, you can't go to Buckingham palace and not see...

GUARDS!!!

This is the well known, rather ugly, and completely inconspicuous London Bridge. The older, more elegant, London Bridge was bought by an American and partially reassembled in Arizona (I say partially because the many of the materials used in the reconstruction were not brought from London. several parts of the actual bridge were left behind. However, the structure in Arizona is a complete bridge). Before that there were many other London Bridges built and destroyed at different times. The Bridge that a lot of people mistake for London Bridge in modern photographs of London is actually Tower Bridge which is seen here in the next photo.

The next place I visited was Scotland. Here's a couple from Edinburgh you haven't seen yet...

Yes! It is a real live Scottish bagpiper playing outside Deacon Brodie's Tavern. There were a few of them around town.

This is me at the cold, grey, windy, rainy, Scottish seaside. My great aunt and uncle thought it was a little odd that I wanted to see the sea in Scotland since I see it at home all the time, but there's something different about the ocean there. And I just really wanted to say that I've been to the Scottish seaside!

And of course, ladies and gentlemen, the much antipicated...ADAM'S ASS!!!

This postcard was signed by the man himself. That is actually his butt and I actually met the guy who's butt that is, and he actually signed it for me...needless to say I was highly pleased.

That's all for today folks! Tune in next time for Rome and Corfu!

It's far too late. Goodnight everyone!
