I didn't see this coming, and it's all the better for it
Occasionally, I have idly thought to myself 'I need an arranger'. This thought is due to the fact that I'm pretty good at writing lyrics, and not that bad at writing melodies, but not at all knowledgable regarding what different instruments do, etc etc. - the kind of knowledge arrangers live on.
And I thought to myself 'there ought to be *someone* who has that knowledge but doesn't do much composition. Then we have an ideal collaboration.'
That someone was lauradalloway. And she just happened to be considering the writing of a musical, only to be unable to think up a plot.
As many of you will know, I had a plot for a musical already (which I'd actually planned in some depth), but I only did a couple of songs for it.
I scarcely need to tell you the rest.
Yes, we're going to be working on that together. :)
Edit: aflee has offered her services too. Hopefully all three of us will be online at the same time so we can discuss plans...
