Re-reading Evangelion Manga...
Have I yet told how much I adore Manga Kaji? I didn't care for his Anime counterpart but in the Manga he became such... deep character, he has a background! He acts as a spy for a reason! His past is far more dramatic than most of the characters and instead of whining/bitching/drowing in his self pity, he matured. While I still prefer the Anime series, Manga Kaji pwns Anime one, you care for his character rather than caring how the rest will feel his lost.
And Asuka is better in the Manga as well. She's not PMS 99% of her time.
The EVA 04 battle was cooler in the Manga as well (Shinji's reaction was far more powerful due to the fact... SPOILERSTouji was killed, not lost his leg here. Shinji goes bat shit, they were far more close in the Manga, tries to blow up NERV, then when he's forced out of the Eva, he punches Gendo before walking out the baseSPOILERS).
