Cape Breton, fo reel.
So, I figured I might as well do this.
Drove down yesterday, took around 4 hours with stops (once for gas, once for food). Furthest/longest drive I've done on my own before, but it was goodish.
Lawn mowing, lots of visiting, that sort of junk yesterday it was pretty cold in the tent, although boiling by morning.
Today, more visiting, walking (beach), and bingo. Mom won $117, and that was pretty exciting. I was close a couple times, but no big wins. I'd be nice to come home with $1000. Mom bought us ice cream. Natalie managed to get it all over her stuff.
I saw Grandpa, and he seems to be doing okay. He has Alzheimer's, and sometimes he's not so good. He'll still repeat things/stories several times, but he knew who I was, which made me happy. He seems to be in pretty good spirits too, despite being in a nursing home now. Grandma and him had a supper-cute moment when he had to go back... Natalie almost cried.
Tonight in the tent should be better. Natalie and I have a whole lot more blankets, AND we're going to bring our laptops for extra warmth... maybe.
