Thanks to Michael Everett for reminding me, the newest version of MSN has been released, MSN Live.
Even better, so has Plus! and the Mess Patch, both which make using MSN exponentially better, getting rid of ads, using useful message logging, expanding the length of messages, etc.
(To give you an idea of how much I like Plus! and the Mess Patch, I wasn't going to download MSN Live Messenger until they were released for it.)

http://www.mess.be The only thing I can see I DON'T like about it so far is it doesn't let you view the tiny display pictures beside people's names. Everything else is improvement and looking good.
Also, you can apparently use voice chat to talk to people that are using Yahoo Messenger. Hopefully we're slowly working towards one unified chatting network (instead of individual ones... GAIM and Trillian have the right idea, but we really all need to be on one network).
