life is good.
-the new truck is running great. it sucks on gas, but i knew that. the whole reason i got something that big was for the camper and the bike trailer set that i am planning on getting. I will be doing my commuting for the summer from the goldwing, and probably paying cheap cash for an old standard tranny 4 cylender commuter ride. I cant justify the expense or the wasefulness of commuting in this truck regularly. it is what i wanted, and what i have wanted for a long time, but it is a bit excessive for common usage. really, it is just for a 4X4 that can pull that trailer and camper.
-work is still going really well. I had a bit of a slow february, only getting one, which qualified me for that motivational seminar in Vegas and the race tickets. it was really the 4 that i got in january that carried me. I got a contract today and have one projected for monday and another for the end of next week, so im staying strong as of now.
-house is going pretty good. am holding my housewarming party the last sunday of march. i wanted to do it later, like in april or some such, but my father is flying out from iowa, and i would like for him to be there, so i am doing it then. hopefully the weather warms some and that works out.
-goldwing is in the shop for that mysterious ailment that has been plagueing it for the past year. turns out it is a voltage regulator, and once it is replaced, the bike will run a whole lot better, the stereo and lights will work right, and i'll get my cruise control back. it was a lot less cold on that this morning taking it to the shop than i had expected. If the ground would stay dry, and i got a better pair of gloves, i would start commuting on that now.
-homelife is pretty good. i think i have the arrangements made to put a drop staircase in my attic to take care of some storage and insulation problems that came with the home. Im also going to start measuring the floor dimentions for my basement to finish that hopefully over the course of the next year or so. I need to decide what i am going to do about the driveway, and ive been offered some help putting gutters on the house as well. a lot of project dreams there, but it is all relatively small stuff.
-looking for an inspiration for my next armor project. my last one came out pretty nice, and it went over very well in its competition. I was a little upset at first, but i am glad i made it because without that competition, it would have remained in drawings in my desk another 3 years. I need an inspiration moment, or an artists vision if you will for my next project. meanwhile, i am making a lot for order and a lot of little things for kiome's merchants stand.
-costume, same thing. trying to complete a vision. one for guilliam, another for antonio, and some costume deals to sell or give to newcomers. with the projects for guilliam and antonio though, no vision yet. maybe i should start by rebuilding their weapons and getting that shield project that i promised grimloch done.
-riding team, going really well. Ridden 3 distinctly different horses in the team. i have one that i really like, but i dont think i will end up being assigned to that one because of my size. He is really tall, and a LT that rides with us is also pretty tall, so they are putting those 2 together because of looks. they tried me out on a short broad horse (keep your comments, thank you) and we didnt get along well at all, although we looked good. he is grey too, which is one of my favorite colorings in a horse.
in politics, looking at this port deal still. i dont like it, but more because i want to see the work done domestically than out of any real security concerns from UAE. I really think that regardless of who runs it, port security will remain in the hands of various federal agencies and the coastguard, i just like the idea of american prots being run by americans. not arabians or brittish, or anyone other than americans. suppose that is not really a valid opinion in a free market society, but that is really my biggest objection.
still not liking the border, but that is old news. still not liking the current situation in iraq, think we should have either not gone, or gone in guns blazing, faught a war and gone home. this hussein trial is taking way too long, do justice and move on with our lives. at this point he has admitted to the execution of over 160 people becaue they 'may have been involved' in an attempt on his life. well, he may have wrongfully killed them if they may have been involved, so the court may punish him for that and maybe we can all stop seeing him pretending to be superior to the human race.
tax season. grrr.
really nothing else going on for me. leaving for vegas next weekend for 5 days. that is damn nice to think about, and im going to enjoy that immensely, im sure. unfortunately, it means i wont make feast of rhiassa, which is kind of a shame because it was the founding of grimloch and the kingdoms, the food was really good the last few years, i get to dress up for feasts, and im disappointed to miss the auction. there are a few things that i know i am interested, and i am sending some checks with kiome and instructions on how to bid on my behalf, but i really would like to have seen that stuff. and the cause is good. duncan's cousin's kid or some child close in his family is terminally ill, and i am given to understand that the auction money is going to help give the kid treatments. hopefully this kid ends up ok, dunc and i arent buddies, but i certainly dont wish anything that horrible on anyone, so in light of the cause, i am bidding a bit more than i typically would on things as well. i guess that is a threat, it would be wise not to bid against the mighty guilliam!!!
im rambling now, and i have work to do, so ciao
