the most disappointing race ive seen in a long time. The daytona 500 was a crock this year. First off, the restricter plates and horspower robbing mandatory carburators kept the drivers from actually using their cars, which made them do desparate things to try to gain position, like ride 4 wide in a pack of 34 cars, and run people off of the track enitrely or into walls... wait, that was just tony stewart being an asshole. and nascar didnt notice his first few performances, and when they finally did, they docked him 15 positions and left him ono the lead lap. it was truly a sad display. He should be banned from racing for wreckless endangerment for at least 3 major races. Johnson's first daytona win, partially shadowed by his crew chief's being caught cheating earlier this week. i think it means he had to be clean cause they were watching him, but of course in the wake of that there are accusations. and how about that 24 car. almost as wreckless and dangerous as stewart. Biffle had a disappointing 31st finish after being hit in the first 20 laps, going from 34th place up to lead a few laps and back to about 12th where be blew a tire, got loose and hit a wall all in the last half mile of te race, forcing the caution to end the race for johnson's victory. I am disappointed that Biffle didnt work with mark Martin more though. they could have pulled a win out of it for Roush, but they werent playing off of eachother well at all. at one point, martin drafted behind and pushed biffle up to first place, and rather than continuing forward with his teammate, biffle went way outside and bailed on martin dropping him back to about 4th place. Buddy was clearly only half of the word there.
i hope the rest of the season goes better for the 16 team, and i hope nascar doesnt screw up more races like they did this one. stewart is going to kill soemne. i hope he doesnt kill himself because he will suddenly be thought of as a hero, but i certainly dont think he is safe for the sport.
EH Counsil meeting went well enough. lasted just over 4 hours. i got no real complaints and a lot of compliments. i think the only person remotely agressive twards me was someoene who doesnt like me and gave me no criticism, just turned her back and put a hand out at my face. very childish, but im used to that kind of performance out of her.
