You want working on boy

I planned to update this last week but it was a bit manic. At the last minute on Tuesday Alex invited us out for drinks with his friend Otto - as we keep cancelling him and blew him out when he invited us sailing I said we should go. Glad we did, we met up for drinks in Soho before decided to going to my personal Nirvana - Bodeans on Poland Street. This broke us - we ate far too munch and were really off the pace when we hooked up with Otto. I haven’t met him before but Alex talks about him a lot. He works on a music magazine somewhere in Europe and is always flying in to London to interview all these bands and artists. It’s pretty much the dream job. I thought him and Loulou were going to clash really badly but they eventually warmed to each other at the end of the evening. There was a funny instance where Alex and Otto took us to this really dingy underground drinking club (if memory serves correctly we had to be signed in) it was really scuzzy and there was a really trendy couple in there badly drunk and obnoxious who were obviously eavesdropping then decided to ask us an impertinent question so the four of us just turned round and flayed them alive with bile and venom. I don’t think they knew how to deal with that and they didn’t make another sound.

Paradoxically on Wednesday I went out after work round Old Street with his soon to be ex-wife Helen. I have never seen her looking so happy and healthy. We had a good chat about life and art but I was fascinated by the fact that two lovely people could make each other so unhappy. The end of their marriage no matter how upsetting for them is easily the best thing to happen. Surprisingly Hoxton and Shoreditch were not too wanky as usually it is full of people that need to be executed immediately. Not sure why it was so quiet but I am glad it was. Helen really was like another person though and I felt I saw the real her, it was almost like a caged bird that had been freed. She’s invited me to Southend where her parents live to do some beach combing and was very excited by me doing art again, which was flattering.

Thursday was fun because I met up with Becky to watch the cricket in a pub in Fitzrovia before we headed back to mine to have some more drinks, a curry and to watch the World at War. Becky loves history and the war so she is ideal to hang out with to do this sort of thing, because I had booked the Friday off work we really went for it, poor Becky though - she had to go in on the Friday. Naturally we only got away with watching war stuff because Loulou was out for the evening. She went with a friend to a Female Domination club. Slightly jealous about this as it sounds like a great social event considering who goes but I am just not a submissive man so it’s a bit pointless. She didn’t get in till around 4am but was delightfully sweet when she did..

Friday we went to Brighton for the day - it must have been at least 4 years since we were last there. I do love the place but you can get a bit bored after a day there. It was actually really hot and sunny. We went to a really gay tea rooms for tea and cake - The Tea Cosy http://www.theteacosy.co.uk/. The place was fabulous - you weren’t allowed to say anything bad about the Royal family or you would be asked to leave or indeed dunk your biscuits or chick your cup when you stir your cup of tea as these were also against the rules. The scones and cream were so rich though, it filled us up for most of the day, still it was nice to sit on the beach and relax and chat and thank god for the iphone which meant I could keep in touch with the cricket!

It’s nice going for day trips, I want to do it more, especially as it doesn’t look like we will go away this year and I have plenty of leave to take. It would be nice to explore different parts of the country, were thinking of going to Oxford next and Bath and Sandwich are definitely on the agenda.

Last week was great fun but exhausting and hardly healthy I think I reached tipping point and Loulou has told me she will sort me out - in a good way I hasten to add, so it looks like me and Mani are going to be ‘worked’ on as he has incurred her wrath as well by eating some of his sisters food and putting on weight. Both her boys are out of shape lol.

“I have been watching you. Especially you - prancing like a tit. You want working on boy.”

Jack the poacher -

So this week has been a little more sedate - though I did meet her after work for a couple of beers in Camden town along with some pub food, I have risen to the task and been to the gym 3 times this week although after the gym last night I went round to Catherine and Hazel’s for some wine and a BBQ, so I have not quiet nailed the cutting down drinking just yet but I will get there! Though the next few days look like they could be hard work and we are in Vauxhall tomorrow for a party. I think I will be restrained as Loulou is away this weekend as she is going to a Sex in the City party with a load of girls and stopping over. Sounds horrific but I have invited James round for an all dayer which will no doubt descend into drinking, curry and watching the Beatles anthologies and football DVDs whilst two cats sit in our laps. Should be a fun day.
