So I'm not sure if this has started to infiltrate livejournal yet or not, but if it hasn't let's get the ball rolling.
Penny-arcade readers will remember the child's play charity they set up and ran last year. Thanks to the generosity of, I can't even begin to put my thumb on a number, of videogame players, it was a roaring sucess.
This year they're doing it again, only it's not just focused on thier local children's hospital. As you'll see on the frontpage, they're doing this drive for five children's hospitals across the USA. The site says it better than could hope to, but in a nutshell, child's play was created as a retaliation against the typical "kids who play violent videogames" stereotype, My words are failing me, and as I said, their site says this all much better than I can. So for those of you who play videogames but read no webcomics (because even though the penny-arcade guys are organizing it, pretty well everyone running a videogame webcomic is linking it), even if you don't play games and don't read gaming comics, check out http://www.childsplaycharity.org/
I think it's cool.
