I thought Dar may well have been the main person of interest!
Sir Diceon Mordanus in your grandfather, and Sir Artorious Mordanus your Nephew.
1. Darrius was created as my first paper and pen AD&D char. I decided on the first name, and my DM gave me a list of surnames which came from the AD&D Dragonlance book; hence Mordanus. PS I had never RP'ed before playing Darrius, and he reflects alot of attributes I see I have, and alot of attributes I -wish- I could have.
2. *laughs* Darrius was often drunk in normal 'US' times due to the fact that it was night time in Australia.
3. An interesting question, after you stopped playing was not long before I faded away from UO which also included my dear wife Rielle (even thought she didn't play UO, rather just posted on the KS board). There are some posts on the board describing the after events (http://p090.ezboard.com/ftheprideofsolamniathewyvernsclawtavern). But in short (and Rielle may need to correct me) But in the 2 areas I played Darrius: -In UO I retired and let Edge Brightblade take over the knighthood, and retired to live a life of relative peace with Rielle in Castle Mordanus near Solanthus in Solamania. Darrius dual classed from a Knight of Solamnia to also become a high level cleric of Paladine. Rielle came and went as events unfolded in her tangled life. -In my paper AD&D version, Darrius married and had 3 children, 2 twin daughters and 1 son. The daughters where murdered by a surprise attack by Knights of Takhisis, whom Darrius swore an eternal blood oath of vengeance against and gave up his chance to (in the future) become a saint or fallen holy warrior (see the AD&D book of Exalted Deeds). Darrius also dual classed as a cleric of Paladine and eventually ended up as a 15th level Knight of Solamnia (Rose) and 15th Level Cleric of Paladine. Darrius fought in the Chaos War, eventually become Lord High Justice of the Rose, and then retired with his wife to the magical isle that Goldmoon lived, until Dar's death, still believing and worshipping Paladine, even after his choice to become mortal and to keep the balance when Takhisis was slain. 4. Darrius' father, Sir Diceon Mordanus was slain in the battle of Vingaard Keep during the War of the Lance when Dar was only 12. Lady Mara his mother died a few years after that of a broken heart, leaving Dar, his younger sister Corinne, and brother Gregor to fend for themselves, with Castle Mordanus having being taken in a peasant rebellion some years before. 5. Darrius met and fell in love with Rielle (Cerces) during the time of the Proud Lion. From then on Dar courted her for much a time, until one day when I proposed and she accepted. Neel conducted the ceremony in IRC as she was not playing UO, with almost all the knighthood in attendance. The match is an interesting one, Dar the lawful good holy knight, Rielle the fire witch, at best chaotic neutral (correct me here if you will dear!) who saw something in each other which transcended the traditional bounds of light and dark. 6. *sigh* Dar is not played in UO, nor has he been in my paper and pen AD&D in near on 2 years. Infact, the last time I played him was the -final- adventure in middle to late life where I was helping my son, Artorious.
I am actually at the moment, creating my new char for the future. It was be either Artorious' son or his grandson (damn those short human lifespans!) I will post some of my ideas to get some suggestions in the future before I decide :)
