Hm, so it's nearing the movie season of the year. What have we got?
Let's just nitpick at a select few here, for no real reason aside maybe I recognize them from someplace or another. Or to put it simply familiarity or curiosity.
Wall-E June 27
Hello Johnny-5..? No wait.. He's short, stubby, and comes from space? Robo-ET? Confusion galore with what seems to be a mis-mash of Number 5 and ET.
Plot synopsis reveals that's not the case, shocking! Basically, it's about a waste disposal robots cutesy journey and an inadvertent discovery that may save Earth~
It's by Pixar, I think that speaks enough for what to expect. x3
Incredible Hulk June 13
Maybe I've just been under a rock or something, but are we doing the remake thing now with movies that aren't even 10 years old?
However, after watching the trailer out of curiosity I can say this movie looks a lot better than the first one for any Hulk fans; it's not a remake, it's redemption. It seems more honest to what I remember the hulk being, rather than the whole 'what the heck is this?' feeling I got from the first one. Points to note are: Bruce's disgust for his alter ego, a longing to find a cure, and manipulated experimentation resulting in a foe only he can face after he has come to terms with himself.
Speed Racer May 9
Now if you are thinking like I am, you're probably expecting the same kind of neat zaniness from the cartoon some of us remember watching back in the day. I know that was my expectation.
Movie is going to be... Quite different. It has a very colorful and vibrant style to it. Comic Book like. The style, not the substance, reminds me somewhat of Sin City, except instead of black and white with color highlights we have color with color highlights. It's hard to explain, but the visuals are just as important in this movie as they were in Sin City; and they are quite emphasized, near seizure inducing. Do not expect much relation from the old Japaneses anime, except the key elements of the story.
Iron Man May 2
This is a new and more expansive trailer. A better trailer really. Anyway, a billionaire arms dealer, and all-around asshole, has an awakening that his entire life has been dedicated to the destruction of human life; contrary to his original belief, of being the arms dealer and not the shooter. To amend, he designs a power suit and becomes a super hero in secret. The original design of the suit, either left behind or stolen, is copied creating a super powered villain.
The Happening June 13
Ah, here go. These are the trailers that annoy me. Don't explain much of anything about the context of the movie. Yet the still show you important scenes that generate wonder.
Bees all over America are vanishing, people are dying/vanishing, chemical scare in America, panic, people in contamination zones dying.
So there's a lot of dying, and even with the minute contexts given it's hard to determine what's going on. It's an M. Night film though, if that means anything. Half the fun is trying to figure it out more-so than watching it. Take it as you will.
The Forbidden Kingdom April 18
Artsy martial arts epic kind of movie. Interesting to see both Jackie Chan and Jet Li on screen. Though quite possible it's happened I haven't seen it yet. x3
Jet Li maintains his stereotype of the serious fighter while Jackie Chan sticks to his typical silly yet skilled character. Not in a bad way, the stereotyping, it appears to work on the screen. There's some white kid stuck in the middle, apparently a martial arts fanboy buys or messes with a lost relic and winds up traveling through time and space to ancient China.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull May 22
Okay, I'll be honest. I'm psyched. It's Indiana Jones.
I'm not even going to bother breaking it down.
Unannounced releases or new teasers
Diary of the Dead TBA
Zombie movie + cloverfield/blair witch camera style-shooting = this
Gore + dizziness = ???? xD Pretty much sums it up I think.
Star Trek XIA teaser is available, no real legit trailer exists that I could find.
Apparently, despite being number XI it's a prequel.
David already knows cause he has Star Trek senses beyond any normal person.
Don't think it'll be around this season, but I put it here anyway.
Reader discretion is advised.
