3 Elements
This is sort of a story/songfic/fanmix/mixtape/graphics project I've been working on. I tried to tell a story with music that related to me (with a grimm fairytale twist) but still sounded like a good, cohesive mixtape. The images are spelt incorrectly on purpose.
I really hope you enjoy, I had a lot of fun making this.
"Allow me to tell you a tale of a boy. A teenage child, growing up in the desolated recesses of a land called the Grey. The boy was quiet and reserved. He spent his time fading into crowds, eyes kept closely to the ground. He didn't have many friends and spent most of his time alone, tucked away from the world. But the boy grew tired of sleeping and tired of living in the Grey. He wanted colour. This was the thing he desired most in all the world."

"Waif-like figures spun around the boy, dancing in the glow of the street lamps. They latched onto him and his frown stretched to a smile. As they led him onwards, hungry smiles from the darkness whispered, laughed and prowled behind him."

All eyes on us, guys watching from far

"The friendly figures clawed and pawed at the boy, tearing at his clothes and giggling. The pushed bottle after bottle of strange liquids down his throat, and the boy grew braver with each sip. He was in ecstasy."

"Then, through hazed eyes, the boy saw the smiles grow larger. Pulsing bigger and bigger until a bulky, wolfish man stood before him. His eyes shone the brightest blue and the boy was enamoured by the fox-man's grin. 'You're not from around here,' the Fox murmured into the boy's ear. The boy, now overcome by the toxic liquids and cunning fox flesh, simply nodded and sighed, pressing his nose into the Fox's neck. The Fox simply wagged his tail and pulled the boy tighter."

"I could show you some shiny tricks." he said
"Come along we'll get our kicks," he said
"Land Ho!" for shiny tricks
"Land Ho!" for me
"Oh Fox! Is this love? Can you tell me? What is love?"
"The boy awoke with a start, almost a year later. His pupils, now fine slits, struggled to adjust to the scene before him. The figures surrounding him were gone now. He frantically searched for the Fox, stopping dead before a mirror. Tears filled his eyes and rolled down his soft muzzle as he realised the truth. The blurred 'friends' had poisoned him and left the boy alone. He heard them shriek and cry with laughter in the distance as they moved onwards and upwards, spiralling into the world without him. And the Fox? Why he had taken the most precious thing of all. The boy circled the gaping hole in his chest with a weary paw. He had taken his heart."

"His chest heaved with anger and despair. Tricked! The figures had promised to stay with him forever and he gave them everything he had. Why did they abandon him? The promised to be his friend, how foolish the boy felt to have believed them! Instead, they drained him, replacing his soul with the strange liquids that now seeped from every pore, running down his cheeks. Once they had fed, they left him. He looked around, hoping to find some way back to the Grey. The pain was too heavy on a chest that held no heart."

"As he walked, his thoughts turned to the Fox. Oh, the things the Fox had whispered to him! Promises of love, of colour, of unending wholeness! All this in exchange for his heart. It seemed too good to be true..."

"But despite all this, the boy loved the Fox. His head was so filled with sadness and anger, and still thoughts of the Fox brought butterflies to his stomach. They spilled from his chest, dissipating into wisps of smoke behind the boy. Such was the power someone held when they owned your heart. Though the mischievous fox-man had done so much to hurt him, the boy hoped that, wherever he was, the Fox was happy."

This is the hardest part

"The boy eventually reached a shimmering white woodland. He wasn't sure if he had come this way, but he was too tired to care. He began to navigate the wood when he was shrouded in mist. A voice chimed through the forest, bouncing off every crystal leaf. It was soothing, but the boy couldn't hear it clearly. Clutching his chest, he continued onward."

this big ball of sad isn't worth even filling with air
"He stopped at a small pool of water within the wood. He felt as if he was being pushed down, the weight on his shoulders was almost unbearable. He lay flat on the ground, writhing in pain. Out of the water, a ghostly shape appeared, unlike those he had met earlier. It looked exactly like him before leaving the Grey. The boy reached out and traced the figure's chest with his hand. No, not the same. This person seemed to have a heart.
'Why are you so sad?' the person questioned. All at once a flurry of emotion hit the boy, jerking him upright. He vomited, crying black sludge on the woodland floor. The ghost jumped in amazement, eyes transfixed on the new arrival. After a while the boy slumped back, feeling queasy and empty. They both stared into the thick substance, which had started to shift and shudder, forming words and figures. After a moment, the ghost understood."

"The sludge told the ghost about the boy's terrible adventure. It spoke of how he sat by his window, looking out onto a world of colour while the boy remained motionless and grey. It told the ghost about every time he felt sad, and cried, and how he lost his heart. The ghost was captivated. As the sludge spat out these horrible secrets, the ghost began to eat! It devoured every last piece of the tar, and all of the acidic words it spat out until nothing was left. The ghost twisted and cried, shouting to the sky. It grew big and strong and blood coursed through it's once-hollow veins.
Slowly but surely, strength returned to the heartless boy, and he gazed at what the ghost had become."

"A piercing howl shot through the woods, shattering the branches and leaves of the trees. The boy's chest seared with agony and darkness surrounded him. Through the imposed night, the boy saw a grin. The Fox. Helpless, the Fox pounced on the boy, whispering all-too familiar words and slobbering wildly. Mustering all the strength he had left, the boy pushed the Fox from him, clambering to his feet.
'What did you do with my heart!?' he yelled furiously, lightning streaking the sky.
'My dear boy,' The Fox smirked, his hot tongue running across jagged teeth,'I ate it.'"

"The ghost was shocked to finally see the Fox. His whispers still lingered in the air, nipping at the ghost's human form. It was a different feeling than he was used to, resting in the warm crystal lake for all these centuries. The ghost shook, listening to the words the Fox spoke. Vulgar promises and suggestive questions were not enough to shake the ghost, and he took his place beside the boy, shielding him.
'And just who might you be?'The Fox snarled.
'I am his.'"

'Oh? Tis a dangerous road, White ghost,' the fox-man waggled a finger, 'What if I were to take your heart, too? It looks so plump and juicy inside that chest of yours.'
'Just try, Fox,' The brawny guardian pulled down his shirt at the neck, flexing his chest, 'I'm the best you'll ever have.'
White ghost barely finished his sentence before the Fox pounced, biting and clawing in a frenzy."

"Seizing the opportunity, the boy picked up a large rock. He swung with an intense furor he didn't realise he ever had. The rock connected painfully with the Fox's head, killing him instantly. Blood splattered over the boy - a noxious, burning blood that caused flickering images to dance before him. You see the Fox, believe it or not, was once a boy like him. He lived in the Grey, longing to someday leave and become the strong man his father wanted him to be. But the Fox was caught in the darkness, with the sinister grins and agonising lust that, over time, mutated him into this animal of sex and manipulation. A tear ran down the boy's cheek.
The Fox was innocent."

"The clouds parted as the Fox breathed its last, and warm light filtered through the crystal canopy, reflecting rainbows of colour along the ground

'Your heart's still missing.'
The boy sighed, nodding. White ghost thought for a moment before grinning and reaching out his hand.
'Don't worry. I'll take care of you.'
Unsure at first, the boy looked at White ghost. He felt a warmth radiating from him that he hadn't felt in such a long time. Even if the boy wasn't sure about White ghost's intentions, he longed to be near that heat. Hand in hand, White ghost led the boy into the lake, stepping as if it were land. They slept atop the water, the boy curled up close to his guardian. For the first time since he could remember, the boy dreamt of colour."

I lay smiling like our sleeping children

"As the boy's eyes fluttered open, he became suddenly aware of a heavy feeling in his chest. He looked down, noticing half of his heart had regrown!
'That's for you. Keep it safe this time, okay?' White's soothing voice washed over him. The boy stared at the half-hollow chest he lay against. His eyes filled with tears of joy.
On the lake, deep within a world of light, two halves of the same heart came together."
