So I've been running lately, a few times a week. I absolutely hate it, but it's a quick calorie burn, and I need to get my cardio up to speed with my strength. I do one or two 5K's a week, and one or two other days I'll run a mile before I work out with weights. I did my first 5K in a little over 33 minutes, stopping a couple times to walk. A week or so later, I did it in a little over 32 minutes, again stopping to walk once or twice. Two weeks ago today, I completed one in 31:26, and I ran the first 20 minutes straight, then had to stop to walk a couple times after that. Today, I walked a minute, ran the next 20, walked just under 2 more minutes, and ran the last 7 or so for a time of 30:26-a whole minute off! I'm really excited about my progress, even though I truly do hate running. It feels like I'm pushing myself through death, which is so uncomfortable. I do eventually want to compete in a triathlon, so I guess I'll have to get used to that feeling...especially if I'm going to feel it in water and then on a bike...
