CHAPTER ONE (1)
"Sophie! Dinner is ready!", her mum shouted.
"I'm coming!", Sophie said.
Sophie was upstairs in her room. She worked her whole Sunday on a school assignment and just finished it. 'Yes, right on time! You did a great job an deserve the night off, haha!', she thought to herself.
"How is your assignment coming along?", her dad asked when she walked in the kitchen. "Great, I just finished it.", Sophie replied. "I can not believe I did it al in one day.. I thought I was gonna be working till the morning, haha!". Her mum giggled, "Lucky you! What are you doing on your suddenly available Sunday evening?". Sophie smiled when hearing her mum say 'available Sunday evening' and said she might go by to see her friend Sian.
Sian lives near by Sophie but they don't see each other as much as they used to.
They grew up together, but school grew them apart. Sophie was always the smarter one and went to a better school when they finished primary school.
"That would be nice, to see your friend! You probably haven't seen each other since her birthday 6 months ago, right?", Sophie's mum said. "Yeah, and we didn't even had the time to talk then. She was so busy with her new friends and everything.", Sophie said with a sad face.
After dinner Sophie called Sian to see if she were home.
"Hi Sian!"
- "Hey Soph, It's been a while…"
"I know, I should have called earlier, but school.. you know what it's like!"
- "Haha, yeah I know. It's ok"
"What are you doing tonight?", 'please say you're free', Sophie thought while waiting for Sian to respond.
- "Hmm, I was hoping someone would call.."
"Oh, so you're waiting for someone else?", Sophie interrupted.
- "No, no I wasn't. I just wanted someone to call me, haha", Sian giggled.
Sophie laughed, "So what shall we do tonight?"
- "Do you feel like seeing a movie or something?", Sian asked.
"Mmm maybe another time, I don't feel like meeting a lot of people tonight. Can't we just chill at your place?"
- "Yeah, sure! My dad is out, but I guess he won't mind."
"Ok! I'll be there in 20 minutes. Bye love!"
- "Love? Haha, see you then. Bye!!", Sian hung up.
Sophie smiled while putting her phone in her purse. 'Why didn't I call her weeks ago? I kinda miss her..', Sophie thought. 'I've really missed her'. She runs into the bathroom and looks in the mirror. "Jee, Soph! You look like you haven't slept in days!!", she said to herself. She flashes some water in her face and puts on a bit of mascara. "That's better!".
"Mum! Dad! I'll be at Sian's tonight. Won't be late!", she said while shutting the door.
Sophie felt nervous when walking in Sian's street. 'What's going on with me? Do I feel that guilty not calling her before?'. When Sophie rang the doorbell, Sian opened the door instantly, "Sophie!!". "Hi!! Where you hiding behind the door or something?", Sophie said giggling. Sian smiled at her, "To be honest, yes I was. I'm really happy you've stopped by. Come in!"
Sian walked into the kitchen, "Fancy a drink?". Sophie noticed something about Sian. She looked older. "Do you have any Orange Juice?", she replied while inspecting Sian's body. "No alcohol?", Sian asked surprised and turned around. She looked right into Sophie's eyes. "Nope, don't drink. Besides, it's Sunday. School's tomorrow!". Sian started laughing. "What's so funny?", Sophie asked irritated, "You don't drink? Do you?". "Not much, but I do sometimes. I thought it would be appropriate tonight, cause we haven't seen each other in such a long time.", Sian replied. Sophie looked at Sian as if she just said something really stupid, "It's not a special occasion like Christmas where everybody drinks wine or champagne". Sian puts on her sad puppy eyes and looked at Sophie begging her to drink with her.
'Why is she looking at me like that? She knows I can't fight her sad puppy eyes. Her sexy blue puppy eyes… WHAT?! SOPH!! She is your friend, she has beautiful eyes, not sexy eyes! Think normal please!!', Sophie thought to herself. "Ok, I'll have one glass of red wine. Only because you insist". Sian smiled and turned to the wine cabinet. Sophie watched Sian bent forward to pick up a bottle of wine. 'Wow, she looks amazing. Different. I meant different.', Sophie stared at her, 'I've never noticed before, but Sian is a beautiful girl.. Really beautiful!'.
"Coming?", Sian said to a staring Sophie, "Where were you just then? You were staring". "Nowhere. I wasn't staring". "Yes, you were", whispered Sian as she walked upstairs to her bedroom. She sat down on her bed and asked Sophie to come sit next to her. "How is life? What have you been doing when you could have hung out with me?". Sophie felt nervous again, just like before. "I-I w-was busy with school", she stuttered. Sian started laughing, "I was kidding, didn't mean to get you all nervous". Sophie got a bit irritated, "It's not funny!! I feel really stupid about this, ok! But I already felt nervous just for seeing you again".
Inside her mind, Sophie panicked, 'What did I just say? I'm feeling nervous just for seeing her again? I sound like a little kid! Shut up Soph! She must think you're a freak!'.
Apparently Sian didn't mind Sophie saying she was nervous, she didn't even seem to be bothered by it. "That's ok, I was nervous seeing you as well. In fact, I'm kinda nervous right now, being here with you.", Sian replied. "Why are you nervous?", Sophie asked surprised. "Well, we haven't spoken to each other lately and a lot has changed. I've changed", Sian said seriously, "There is a lot that I need to tell you, but I'm scared that you'll never speak to me again". "Sian, you can tell me everything you know that!". "Yea I know, but this is not something that I'm proud of. I'm kinda embarrassed", said Sian while looking at the floor. Sophie tried to comfort Sian by putting her arm around her.
'She is obviously scared to tell me, she can't even look at me. What am I going to do if it's really bad? No.. It won't be bad! It'll probably be something stupid and we'll end up laughing about it, like always. At least I hope so'. "Just tell me whats going on. I'll promise you I won't leave you. I swear", she said. There was a silence. Sian started sobbing.
'Please, don't cry', Sophie thought to herself, '..even though she's sad, she does look rather beautiful today. Mmmm and she smells really nice. And she feels so soft… SOPHIE! SERIOUSLY STOP! Stop thinking about Sian like that. You're not a.. a.. LESBIAN! And Sian obviously isn't one either! … What does that even matter?! You're NOT a LESBIAN!'. Sophie started to lose control of her mind and being scared of the voice in her head, she removed her arm from Sian's shoulder.
"I wanted to tell you this earlier, but I wasn't sure. I think I am now", Sian said sobbing. "I'm pretty sure... I'm a lesbian". "WHAT?", Sophie yelled looking surprised. Sian started to cry, "See! I'm such a freak! Just leave, alright.. Just GO!". Sophie felt her heart racing. "No I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry. Come here!", She took Sian and put her arms around her. "Everything will be alright. I promise you. Don't be embarrassed! You should be proud of yourself!".
Sian looked at Sophie, "So you're alright with me being a lesbian? You're not running away from me when you get the chance?". "No, of course not! I love you!", Sophie said without thinking. Sian smiled trough her tears, "You love me?". "Shit… I meant, I care for you. You know what I mean", Sophie quickly replied.
'What did I mean? Do I love Sian? Am I like her.. Am I a lesbian? Shit! Why does everything have to be so complicated?! Why can't I just be.. Be what? What do I want to be? Sian's got me all confused now! ..Soph, pull yourself together! You can't let this stupid thing inside your head. You're straight. You don't have feelings for Sian other than friendly feelings', Sophie tried to explain herself in thoughts.
Later that evening, after Sian told the whole story to Sophie about finding out her true sexuality, they both felt tired. Sophie was going on inside her head about having feelings for Sian, while Sian was tired of all the nerves she had for telling Sophie. "You're aren't afraid of me now, are you?", Sian asked with a straight face. "No, of course not, I'm your friend!", Sophie said offended. "As long as you're not dreaming of me as your princess on a white horse, I think we'll be fine!", she added laughing.
"Would it be such a bad thing, if I dreamed of you?", Sian asked, "Not that I am.. you know, dreaming about you". Sophie stopped laughing, "I don't know. It's a bit weird but..".
"But what?", Sian interrupted. "It's just weird, ok. I don't want to be hard on you, but breaking your heart, killing your dream. I don't want to do that", said Sophie while already feeling sorry for Sian. '
'How could I feel sorry already? She doesn't even… But what if she does? Wouldn't that be great?! … NO IT WOULDN'T!! For god's sake, Soph! What is going on with you?!'.
Sian seemed disappointed and looked Sophie in the eye, "Then I'll have to find another princess".

Hopefully I'll be writing chapter 2 tomorrow. I want to make this a big story in a short amount of time.
Please be kind enough to tell me what you think about my story and writing.
I love to have good feedback (good feedback is being honest about negative parts)
I might have put to much action in chapter one, but I'll put them through some struggles in the next.
Feel like making it hard on Sophie, because she doesn't want to be like Sian. But Sian will fight
for her love.
I honestly think that in Coronation Street their relationship started to easily.
They kiss. Sian's pissed. Sophie's sad. Sian comes to apologize, gets jealous of a lad.
She realizes she has feelings for Sophie and BAM! They kiss again!
They wanted the story fast, that's why Sian gave in so quickly.
But from my own experience and others around me, things don't go that way.
We all want to act straight first, to see if the gay feelings will leave. Hoping it's a phase.
Because we've all been afraid about what people might think.
I think that in my story Sophie needs to fight her feelings before giving in.
And it'll be nice to 'see' Sian fight for her, cause we all like tough love. (Admit it!)
Oh, and by the way. I just saw the episode of 27/12/2010 and there we're lots of
Siophie moments! Sad they didn't kiss when they we're laying on Sophie's bed,
that was such a cute moment and a perfect time for a little kiss (even on the cheek
would have been nice). Guess they want to save it all for New Years Eve!
Good night everyone!
