And the day gets better! I have a nutritionist's appointment this evening...normally, if I were working, I'd catch the bus. Because I'm at home, it'll take me at least an hour by bus/walking to get there and the same back, so I canceled ( Read more... )

They'll pay for the ticket but I could, theoretically, make it to the appointment (if I weren't feeling so damn bah humbuggish about the trip) so I'd feel guilty about asking for that.

I understand the purpose...I think it's a bit crappy when someone actually takes the time to call and it's obviously been an unexpected situation.

Oh, I understand the purpose too, but, as you point out, there are cancellations and cancellations. And yours wasn't for the hell of it.

Wow, that totally sucks. I agree, that qualifies as an officially terrible day.

(Also, the "first world problems" formulation always makes me want to kick the person saying it in the shins, because it has all the hallmarks of a) an excuse not to be sympathetic and b) a guilt trip. Yeah, your life would be worse if you were a starving orphan, but that doesn't mean you have to enjoy this kind of shit.)

I'm still sorry it happened to you, and all in one day yet.
