Camping expeditions seem to be the fad around here. Jason just finished recounting his recent hiking trip with Sean to Liu with all the glee of a five-year-old talking about his new fort. He and Sean planned to spend one or two nights out in the wilderness behind Burnside industrial park at an unnamed lake 6km out. They hauled their heavy packs out at 8 am and around 4:30 pm I get a call to pick them up.
There was no clean water, and they ran out of the stuff they brought quickly. The stuff they boiled had fish and frog poop in it. There were signs of coyotes and possibly bears everywhere too. There were a million frogs and Jason almost got stung by something called a white wasp. Sounds like someone you meet at a church picnic in Avonport. Very vicious.
Now they want to go back.
Jason was trying to talk Liu into going.
Liu speaks English pretty well, but I have a feeling Jason and I are fairly bemusing. Especially when he gets into grandiose schemes of making a cottage-like thing or camping in a place like that.
If only Keji wasn't so pricey.
Maybe I can talk them into kayaking.
