Back on the creatine next week.

I slept really badly last night. Like, in past years, I'd have about two nights a year where the tiniest noise would sound like thunder to me and I could hardly sleep at all. It was basically one of those nights, compounded by Goblin waking me up at 5 (and subsequently being locked in the basement) and Eve waking me up around 6:00, presumably to use the litterbox.

Oh hey Ken how is your two books a month thing going?

Oh hey shut the hell up inner monologue.

Actually, I squeaked into February by finishing the doorstopper Republic of Thieves, which I quite enjoyed. Two days later I finished the bite-sized but deep Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. (Which reminds me of eating a sea urchin nigiri - a bit small but with a surprising depth and intensity to it.)

I'm still working on 1Q84, but I am only maybe 1/ through book 3. I think I heard that it was originally just two books, then Marukami decided to finish it up in a bit more depth. I can believe it; I thought book 2 was pretty intense and had a strong (if somewhat open-ended) conclusion. Book 3 is more back to the relaxed pace of Book 1, and I just haven't had/made as much time to read.

My current "next up" sort of list is Shogun, the Black Halo, or some Jack Vance. I still have several other started books to finish, but that's rarely stopped me before.
