Votin' U.S.A. lizard115 April 8 2006, 07:48:50 UTC
I have a co-worker who has access to a lot of personal info through her job. Once during a voting discussion it came up that people my age don't vote.

"I always vote," I told her. "I don't believe I've missed a vote since I was eighteen."

Apparently she didn't believe me, so looked up in her files and was bizarrely stunned that I was catagorized as a "super-voter.."

I like to remember Susan B. Anthony when she spoke at the convention of the National American Woman Sufferage Association in 1894:

We shall some day be heeded, and when we shall have our amendment to the Constitution of the United States, everyone will think it was always so, just exactly as many young people believe that all the privileges, all the freedom, all the enjoyments which women now possesses always were hers. They have no ifea of how every single inch of ground that she stands upon today has been gained by the hard work of some little handful of woman in the past.

She didn't live to see the amendment added that allowed women to vote, so I'll always vote and remember her struggle.
