Animals Sex Behavior

Tonight T.V. watching gave me an unexpected satisfaction. I learned and at the same time enjoyed each time I discovered new things about animals behavior.

ANG PINAKA aired over GMA News TV Channel 11 featured Top 10 animals who have strange sexual behavior. Some of the animals included in the list are the following:

Alligators - their mating is done only in the water because according to the panelists if they are going to do it in land, their sexual organs will find it hard to meet.

Penguins - have short time mating process.

Tortoise - male tortoise are competing for a female mate with their neck. Tortoise who has the longest one will win in the competition and will get the opportunity to have sex with the female tortoise. (By the way, tortoise's mating lasts for at least an hour, too long right?)

Bees - only the queen bee has the right to get pregnant. She in fact has the right to mate with more than one male bee. Unluckily, male bees will lose their sexual organ after the mating and will eventually die.

Squids - it's the female squids who die after sex.

Flatworms - got the #1 spot because they are hermaphrodite - meaning they possess two sexual organ (the male and the female).

That's it! See? In just a few minutes of watching I've learned a lot of things about animals. I am just wondering why snakes are not included in the list? I don't know how they do it that's why I am curious. What do you think?
