I phoned the bus company today and flat out asked 'Do i still have a job with you guys', lol, cos ive been getting a bit worried. The fella assured me i did and that they were just trying to iron out the start dates.
There's this white cat that lives around here. Its a tad... stupid, i fear. You can hear the marbles rolling around inside its head. This block is comprised of fully terraced row houses, with no gaps. This daft cat, at approx 6am every bloody morning, finds itself on the backyard side of the terrace row and decides it cant be arsed walking around the block, so it comes to our back door, next to my bedroom window, and meaow's for a half bloody hour. In the end, i get up, go into the kitchen, open the door, pick it up, carry it through the house, open the front door, then unceremoniously lob it into the (usually full) garbage bin (which is always a good soft landing). Sounds mean, but the cat is learning... slowly.
There are only three of London's 12 odd original Power Stations left. One, Greenwich, is still in use. The other two are Battersea and Lots Road. Battersea is an endangered ruin these days... They say its likely to end up getting demolished if the next development plan fails, as the building itself is collapsing (on a more humorous note, we encountered 'Anti Urban Explorer Scarecrows' when we were last there... mannequins dressed as workers, positioned in highly visible locations around the building... they failed.)
Lots Road, which once had four chimneys and lots (hah!) of windows, before the chimneys came down and the windows were bricked up during the blitz, will go on to become a converted commercial space, flanked by two 30 storey residential towers. Its gutted now, as it was when i finally threw myself over the fence back in March.
As it was in 1905:
