For the past four days there's been an in-house stand off as to who buys the next £10 of gas. As such, i finally needed a shower last night and in true provvo style, boiled the kettle and proceeded to wash myself in the shower by dunking my scouring sponge into the kettle, then into cold water, lathering the crap out of it with a bar of soap and scouring myself to rid of all the grime. As the kettle emptied of boiling water, i topped it up with cold n after all the scrubbing, the combined cold n hot was temperate enough to pour over myself. Worked quite well. A cold shower in this current climate was simply not an option.
Today someone finally caved and we have gas again :D
There is a Mouse Underground Railroad running from the kitchen, down the corridor, under my door and down the back of my bed. The little bastards are getting cockier as i saw four of them (or possibly a single one, on four trips...?) rocketing in under my door, during daylight hours. Im tempted to just let them be, but i think i should try and find the hole in the wall behind my bed. Its bad enough dodging Leptospirosis down London's sewers without picking it up by getting golden showered in the face by a mouse while im asleep.
Spent most of my evening watching episodes of 'Pizza' on Youtube, as there are bugger all torrents for it. Made me feel homesick...
...And playing this little flash game, which involves your character having to reroute a water supply system using various penstocks, floodgates, while navigating a variety of treacherous pipes and tunnels. Its based on the
El Caminito del Rey, but set in Australia... With, erm Platypus's and Kookaburras... Good fun.
