The great bungling British Bureaucracy at its best... taking three whole weeks to give me a dole payment. Ive been living off £2.50 a day, for a week now.
(and to be honest, im kinda proud of myself for doing so with such finesse, such savvy, such guile, such... adroitness, demonstrating such great savoir-faire within the gentle art of being completely fucking penniless. The ladies just love it!)
Anyways, i think i concussed myself a few nights back. Ran headlong into an overhanging something or other n got headaches for the two days afterwards. Nothing to worry about, but i really should stop looking at the ground so much when walking/running, especially when doing so leads me, as it did yesterday, to finding a £50 note on the street... that turned out to be counterfeit.
(dammmnitt!)
Regarding my late dole payment tho, its late cos im in Great Britain. It'd come faster in Afghanistan, were Afghanistan to have a dole system.
(according to wikipedia, it doesnt)
Buuut i didnt help myself by showing up today for my 2nd interview only to discover that i was a day late... Yes. Ive been operating a day behind the calendar for almost 9 days now.
Been watching lotsa movies. 'Midnight Meat Train', which is based on a Clive Barker story and was great. 'Yes Man', starring Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel, which i liked cos i wanna be a yes man but dont have the financial resources. 'Splinter', a very good low budget monster movie. 'Gran Torino', which really has Clint Eastwood at his best, even at the age of 78. 'Renaissance', a black and white French film-noir anime, that comes dubbed in both English n French, but i accidentally saw the French version... and 'Hearts In Atlantis'.
Havent been to the cinema in almost 5 months. I might got see 'Star Trek'. But im really waiting for this:
The Terminator franchise can do no wrong in my eyes. I loved all three of the films so far, despite what naysayers said about Rise of The Machines. This new one looks like a winner.... i mean look at these posters! Gunna kick ass!
Cos im in Great Britian tho, i have to wait till June 5th... typical.
