Homegrown Heroes.

Dragged myself out to see Snog last night. Ended up having to walk to Sydenham station cos Dulwich Hill has Backwater Syndrome.

The gig was awesome. They truly are the sexiest Electro Industrial bunch around. D. Thrussel is like an electronic amalgamation of Jello Biafra and Jim Morrison, so clarified, yet... slimy. The keyboard n guitarist both oozed sauce all over the stage. They make so many other genre bands look very dull and clumsy.

The musak rocked. Ten songs from more recent albums, starting with 'Neighbour of The Beast then on with 'Its All Lies', 'Lost At Sea' 'King Of Hate', 'Planet of Shit', 'Hooray!', 'Late 20th Century Boy' and 'Al Quaeda Is Your Best Friend' before they made my fuckin night by launching into the club mix of 'Corporate Slave'. What a glorious thing to behold, the crowds response to this techno industrial track from 1992! I was loving it. They followed with 'Spermy Man', 'Born To Be Mild', Cliche' and 'The Future'. Two encores ended the night and a variety of stuff from 'Lies Inc' and 'Dear Valued Customer' were polished off by the very first Snog track i ever heard, the U.S.C.W.F. Mix of 'Shop'. Goddamn, it was beautiful!
