They Swallowed The World

Ive been listening to Haujobb non stop in the car for 3 weeks now.

I only just realised ive been listening to a mashup of two albums, 'Vertical Theory'(2003) and 'Polarity' (2001).

They're so sultry sounding, yet cold and dispondant, depressing yet uplifting. Great for driving too fast.

But what makes em the best value is that id heard both albums quite a few times, and even latched onto a few songs, but it took having the car and driving to them for me to really slide in. Its wonderous to have great music just sneak up on you like that.

It was to Haujobb that i went to Newcastle the other week. I stopped off at the Morrisset Looney Bin, said hello to the crackerjacks ('Zat nish Trana dere, you wanna shell it to me? Hold on i just ashk my coordinater if itsh ok') and kangaroos, then wandered down the hill to the abandoned Ward 21 Prison for the Criminally Insane. Its fucked, every building is collapsing, there are 'roos everywhere who stampede for the exit the moment you set foot thru the gate denting the 5m high perimeter wall. Someone took the Commodore and Gemini out of the swimming pool :(

Drove to see the run-aground freighter, Pasha Bulker. Nobby's Beach was swamped with tourists, so i climbed up to the top of Fort Scratchley. The bugger is impressive thats for sure, what time exposures dont show are the waves, even just normal surf battering against and over it.

The beach was cordoned off with chainlink fencing, patrolled by 6 seccers, so i was only able to get pics thru or over the fence. Itd be nice to get pics up close buy id guess youd have to wait till later at night.
