vegas was...

well different...seems like each time i go now i see it more as a town than this mystical adult fun land. it's like roaming around anaheim and finding out all the icky and not so icky parts when at first i only thought of it as the home to disneyland. so it's becoming kind of like home now oddly enough. like now i know how to get to target, grocery stores, cool punk shops, thrift stores, a cool place to get my hair done. the best part of the trip is that i found a goldilocks bakery!!! omg! omg! goldilocks bakery is a filipino bakery and restaurant, there aren't many of them in the u.s. and whenever my family would come to visit they would stop off and bring us stuff from goldilocks. it was like a mini walk through my childhood..i had ensaymada which is like a sweet bread, and turon, which is a plantain rolled in an egg roll wrapper add some brown sugar and deep fry...sooooo good! i was tempted to get a frozen bag of lumpia but i didn't think it would keep well in the 106 degree heat.

so ya know i'm craving the goldilocks and found out there are three kind of in the area..west covina, artesia, and santa fe springs...i guess a lot of filipinos live there.

ok so enough about the bakery. i also headed out to the attic and it was completely over rated. aardvarks has better prices and selections...even better go to jet rag much cooler. i think the lowest priced item i found was 35 dollars and it was hideous. the cat with one eye was cool, but the cat like the store soon turned on me and bit me. left that place and went looking for cash for chaos...which reminded me of this store in fullerton near the sonic burger...something revolution..tiny store, some records a lot of clothes and decent prices. the girl there was super nice and i think i've seen her at the double down before. buffalo exchange was next and they had some ok stuff..i like the one in san diego better.

target was last on the list and there were two women there wandering around raving about it and how they could spend days there and how they had everything there. no they spoke perfect english and were two old white ladies. so i'm thinking just released from a mental institution, just came out of their bomb shelter to find out the big one didn't hit, or aliens really do exist. grabbed a swim suit and a couple of beach towels and took off.

alright last on my list of things to do was paul frank store...never made it. instead became really dehydrated and realized people that work at casinos have no clue what their address is. i needed to get to 3200 s las vegas blvd. i get up to harrahs, and she's like oh no we're 3900 s las vegas blvd...odd jimmy buffets was a block back and she said they were 3500 s las vegas blvd. ya to the lady at harrahs..you're at 3400 s las vegas blvd!! frustrated, went back to the hotel and went to the pool.

got back to jd with hand foot and mouth, cranky in laws, and well work. tomorrow is my first day teaching health should be interesting.
