Tohu va Bohu

'Without Form, and Void.' An apt description of my life, lately. Well, gentle readers, it turns out that my Glorious Return to Civilization, aka moving back to San Carlos, is being delayed until the beginning of September, which had been the original plan anyway. I learned, when I returned to the Sacramento apartment, that my replacement decided to not move in. She decided this two weeks ago, apparently. She didn't tell V until V tracked her down. V can apparently get her parent's help for one month of rent, which will most likely be September. After that, she's on her own. But this does mean that V won't be able to realistically afford the $100 she still owes me currently, and, regardless of what some people out there in Intarwebz land may think, I'm not so much of an ogre to demand that she pay. If she can send me payments later, that would be fine, or when her inheritence from her grandmother shows up. I need the money, but my situation isn't quite as desperate as hers is right now.

Regardless of the he said/she said/he said/WTF? situation of a week and a half ago, we're able to interact with each other in a less-than-acrimonious fashion. I don't think we'll ever be friends again, but we are more than capable of being civil, even friendly with each other. That's good, as I don't want any ulcers.

I learned on Wednesday that not only do the light rail ticket machines NOT take plastic money, but it costs $20.75 cents to make a local call for about 45 seconds from the Amtrak station, using said plastic money. My bank can't do anything about it until the transaction is no longer pending. I talked to the company in charge of the pay phones, one Legacy Communications, out of SoCal... The operator there was quite condescending; not fun. Apparently, there's supposedly no information about any transactions until five days after said transaction is made. I did a Yahoo search of them, and there are quite a few complaints about them, of the same type as mine, along with a suggestion to contact the Attorney General and the FCC... something about 'cramming.' I think I may do just that, if the charge doesn't reduce itself to a more reasonable amount by the time it goes through.

Sylphslider, you're right; Give Simon Pegg a mohawk and he does look almost like Kapt'n K!

And, on the good news front, I should be getting Tohuvabohu next week; the SIGNED CD, a T-shirt in my size, a sticker and a button! All hail the KMFDM Store! That, and being on the KMFDM MySpace F-list; so I learn about the nifty pre-order packages.

I think I'm going to look into the cost of renting a full-size pickup or an SUV from Enterprise or Hertz for the move. Unlimited miles, so even if it takes two loads, it'll be cheaper, and easier to handle, than a U-Haul... I hate driving U-Haul trucks.
