I haven't posted in a while because I really haven't had much to talk about. That said:
I wish to state my position on something--I am in favor of gay marriage and opposed to President Bush's proposed Constitutional Marriage Amendment. Now, before any bashers show up and start something, let me state the following:
1. I am straight.
2. I DO believe in God.
3. The United States is NOT a Christian country.
4. All arguments against allowing homosexual marriage are based upon Christian theology, and therefore not valid justification as per the First Amendment of the Constitution.
Now that I've said my piece, I urge those of you who agree with me to go here: www.millionformarriage.org This is an issue that affects all of us, GLBT-friendly or not, because if this Amendment passes, it will mean the Religious Right has seized control of the Constitution and taken one very large step toward making the U.S. a conservative theocracy--and we've all seen what happens in conservative theocracies (Afghanistan).
