Oh, heartache! I rather like stories like this, though - still sweet, but with a slight sour aftertaste. The open ending seems so much more plausible and realistic (and therefore more heartachey) than nice little endings where people realise that they're gay for their best friend and there are kisses and happy getting-together sex. Those endings always seem slightly too pat to me. Like they're smirking smugly at me. D: Which prolly explains why I like Coping Methods so much.

Ahhh, the restraint and the sweet, sweet resignation that Shishido shows here is really lovely. I knew he had it in him! For the love of Choutarou, Shishido Ryou will resist jumping his bones!! /melodramatics.

He got to be Ootori’s best friend-most days, that was enough. More than enough.

♥♥♥ to this! So tired and it's like, in the story there is the sheer wall of will that Shishido has up and it only thins away slightly to show how tired he is and I am probably a freak for liking heartachey stuff like this so much.

Basically, I REALLY LIKE THIS! :D

Like they're smirking smugly at me.

Very, very randomly, I have a friend who says the same of every batch of French macarons that he's baked. Bizarrely, he keeps baking them.

Perhaps it's the influence of writing Coping Methods, but I find that I like a little heartache, too--I didn't expect this story to turn out the way it did, but upon reflection, I don't think I'd change the ending. Fluff is fun, but a happy ending would kind of make anything and everything he felt in the course of the story, well, a very moot point.

Aiyee, thank you so much, sweetie! (Now here's hoping you don't hate me if I do actually decide to give Coping Methods a happy ending...)

I thought that macaroons were Jewish. XD Maybe his love for the taste of them overcomes the smugness of their smirks.

xD If I take a step back and think about it, it seems slightly screwed though to think that a happy ending for Ryou will make everything that he's felt meaningless. Ah, well.

aglksjdf yes please do give Coping Methods a happy ending. *_______* I want to see HiyoMari, really really want to see them dating and how they'd interact in that sort of situation because I'm sure it'll be hilarious.

*laugh* I think coconut macaroons are Jewish--I'm talking about macarons, the sort of flattish things that look kind of like a hamburger bun sliced in half; they're the French equivalent of amaretti. They normally come in bizarre pastel colours when you buy them in a shop, but they're awfully tasty. ^^ And I know this because he keeps feeding them to me!

...you know, when you put it that way, you're right, that is kind of screwed up. ^^; Er... well... er. *laugh* I remember the one time I tried to write a happy sequel to the Golden Pair angst I wrote forever ago, and I never ended up finishing it for... well, reasons something like that.

*giggle* HiyoMari dating would be hilarious. *glares at them* Now, if only you two would cooperate...

Hiyoshi: Hrmph.
Mari: *raises eyebrows* Don't look at me.

OHHHHH, THOSE. That have chocolate on the undersides, right? I've had them before. Store bought, but still yummy!

Heh. High tragedy and eternal loss. How fun.

XD How are you two ever going to get anywhere if you take that attitude? *despairs*
