I just stumbled onto your Silver Pair stories and I have to admit I'm getting very hooked on them. You have a lovely way of words and this particular fic is a wonderful balance of dialog and narrative. I loved the banter between the long-time partners and the familiarity and playfulness between them. The thought of Shishido being a morning person while Ohtori fighting to be his usual, polite self until he wakes up was hilarious as well as creative; I would never have imagined it and you carried the theme on particularly well.
Although all that neurophysiological stuff is beyond my comprehension (even after reading your explanation -- people actually have to learn this stuff??), I loved how you incorporated what Ohtori was learning in class to tease Shishido with it. And the nice zinger of “Choutarou… I’m really sorry to have to tell you this, but… I think it’s incurable.” Shishido shook his head, sadly. “You’re still a nerd.” was too funny, especially since it's so true.
Cameo by Jirou is always a win. He's too cute to ignore. :D
Lovely, lovely story. I'm so glad I found your journal! Looking forward to your next fic!
*cough* I'm going to warn you now that long reviews actually turn me in a bouncing ball of ecstasy, which makes me ramble. I apologise in advance. ^^;
Eheh... truth be told, Ootori being the morning monster came more out of necessity than any creative process. I knew when I started that the sleepy one was going to hurt himself somehow, and explain the whole business about pain fibers and touch fibers... and I simply couldn't wrap my brain round the idea of Shishido studying neuro. *laugh*
I'm quite sorry for the neuroscience--me and all my classmates are science nerds by necessity, and I forget that normal people's eyes start to cross when they start seeing Latin. ^^; And truth be told, I love incorporating the stuff I overhear and the things I learn into fics--but I so rarely have the opportunity to, and this was pretty gratuitous. *laugh*
In this version... it's true, poor Ootori's at least somewhere close to being as nerdy as I am, so yeah, Shishido's got the right of it... as embarrassing as it is for all concerned. ^^ *laugh*
Jirou is such love (I especially feel it after having watched the third Dream Live for the first time today) and I'm always really sad that I don't have any bunnies for him and Atobe these days. *laugh*
It's always such a pleasure when someone tells me that they've just stumbled upon my stories, and actually enjoyed them. I know that a lot of people who still read my stories do so because of the insanity that was the Hyoutei Roommates series of long, long ago. *laugh* Thank you so much for the words of praise, and for giving my fics a chance! ^___^ I only hope that I don't disappoint you along the way!
Long responses are even better than "long" reviews and I'm a very word person -- you've been warned!
I think it's great that you incorporate things that you're learning into stories as well. Sadly, I'm not that well-rounded or feel terribly knowledgable enough to do the same so anyone who can pull it off has my respect.
I've started slowly reading reading them in a frenzy after this fic and I love the Roommates series! It's amazing how well you got into each character's head and portrayed them so well. I'll be the first to admit I'm getting hooked, so you don't have to worry about disappointing anyone. :D
Oooh, oooh! So if someone just happened to offer you a prompt for AtoJir that you liked, might you be persuaded to write it? :D Seeing as I fail in writing myself, I'm always eager to push plotbunnies to those whom I trust will do justice to the idea.
...you can tell, by the lateness of my comment replies, that I left the country and didn't answer all my backlog of comments before I did. ^^;
So if someone just happened to offer you a prompt for AtoJir that you liked, might you be persuaded to write it?
YES! There's nothing I love more than to have plotbunny pushers. *does the bouncy fangirl dance of joy* I know that a lot of people find the writing process to be the hardest part, but honestly, for me, it's finding a bunny that makes me want to write it!
*chuckle* Though you do realise that means that I will be babbling and bouncing ideas off you like an absolute loon, right?
*laugh* It was for a medical mission to Honduras--I'm back in the USA, now, but only for, uh, seven hours and counting before I head back to the Philippines. But I will have Internet there, so I will be expecting plot bunnies! *laugh*
Sharing plots, I think, is basically what keeps me writing and is just about the biggest joy in my life. ^_~ Though, ironically, I'll probably be more available for babbling when I'm back in school--I have dialup at home. ^^;
Oh, by all means, I'd be honoured if you friended me. ^^ sinsofwill is my fic journal, and tiamatv contains my flailing/fangirling/real life mischiefs, should that kind of thing interest you. ^^

You may babble and bounce ideas off of me as much as you like. I love sharing plots, especially if it means seeing them come to fruition!
I must start plotting and planning for these ideas to crop up before you go back to school and are too busy to write.
Btw, I probably should have asked this a while ago, but would you mind if I friended you? :)
