[laughs delightedly] oh my gosh! It's Mari! I *so* remember her! (which tells you just how long it's been since I've read those stories that I'm excited to remember such a fantastic original character. ^__^)

Okay... that, and I got terribly excited when I saw Kashiwa mentioned; though, for the lift of me, I can't remember one time I've been there that the station's actually been near on deserted. Even after the department store has closed, there's still the bars and red light district right off on the west-exit side. Though, granted, I've never been out the east-exit. No point when The Hub is out the west. ^__~ Best damn fish&chip and happy hour I've ever enjoyed!

*laugh* It's definitely Mari--and I can't decide if it's been a long time since you've read the stories, or not long enough! *chuckle* I'm so glad you liked these, and find her memorable, though--considering that there's a couple more monstrous stories about her on my hard drive ( ... )

"Forgive" you? are you crazy? [laughs] I was so absolutely delighted to read of a place that I knew of and have been to that *wasn't* part of main-Tokyo that I was positively giddy! It was only afterwards, when I'd calmed down, that I realized the possibility of it not even being the same station. Although, since you mentioned hopping over to Narita the next day, it probably was. ^__^v ( ... )

*laugh!* I couldn't tell you if it was near Narita--I took some bus there from a stop somewhere, and am kind of fuzzy about the whole thing. But yeah, I remember setting the old Seigaku stories I wrote in Kanazawa, just because canon be damned, I know little to nothing about Tokyo. ^^; (And I may have to pick your brain now and again, if you don't mind, because creative license be darned, I do prefer accuracy.)

Indeed, more Mari stories--I do hope they don't disappoint, because I feel like I lost a lot of her "voice" in the years since I stopped writing her. ^^; The first one will probably be up before Friday, and the second not soon after that. ^^

And oh, thank you! I'm so glad you liked the one-liners--they were so much fun to write... and there's a certain sadistic pleasure in breaking one's characters' hearts (*ahem* I'm not a sadist, really) when you can completely forget about all the damage a few sentences later. ^_^

For Tokyo Brain Picking you should try Ai Ling. She's living there now and traveling all over the city for her job. I only going into the city about four or five times a year.... and even then, I rarely get off the Yamanote Line. ^__^;;
